Namiko Winter - Mind-Body Ballet Fitness
Namiko Winter is an adult ballet teacher and ballet fitness instructor, running Mind-Body Ballet Fitness in Matlock and Chatsworth. Originally trained in Japan, she has extensive experience as both a performer and competitor, having participated in many ballet competitions and stage productions throughout her dance journey. She is also a certified Sleek Ballet Technique instructor, specialising in ballet-inspired fitness and wellbeing.
Alongside her ballet training, Namiko has a deep interest in the connection between the mind and body, exploring how our mental state influences physical ability and how movement can positively affect wellbeing. As part of her ongoing learning as a movement therapist, she has studied osteopathic principles and kinesiology, helping her develop a holistic approach to movement and exercise.
For Namiko, ballet is about far more than technique. She believes movement has the power to improve physical health, calm the mind and bring joy, confidence and self-expression into everyday life. Her teaching combines artistic elegance with evidence-informed movement principles, creating classes that are welcoming, inclusive and suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Through Mind-Body Ballet Fitness and her Chair Ballet Fitness programme, Namiko is passionate about making ballet accessible to everyone, helping people discover that dance can be both a beautiful art form and a lifelong source of wellbeing.
